Accessibility statement
Aceversity LLC · Last updated October 1, 2026
We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone. Our site is designed to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we test it regularly with automated tools, manual review, and assistive technologies.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA across the public website and every feature of the app, including sign-up and sign-in, onboarding, the dashboard, calendar, practice, vocabulary, Ask Aceversity, grades, settings, the instructor tools, and the reminder emails we send.
What we’ve built in
- Keyboard access: everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to main content” link on every page. Flashcard shortcuts (Space, 1–4) only work while the card deck has focus, so they never fire by accident.
- Screen readers: every page has a unique title, landmarks and headings; form fields have labels, hints and error messages linked to them; charts and calendars have text equivalents; and changes such as quiz feedback, saved settings and AI progress are announced.
- Color and contrast: text meets at least 4.5:1 contrast (3:1 for large text) in both light and dark mode, form fields and controls meet 3:1, and nothing relies on color alone — course colors, correct/incorrect answers and deadlines are always named in text too.
- Zoom and small screens: pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling, support browser zoom to 200% and custom text spacing.
- Motion and timing: animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion, and messages stay on screen until you dismiss them. Time limits (such as the contact form’s spam check) can be renewed without losing what you typed.
- Your settings: the site follows your system’s light or dark preference, and you can switch it at any time. The interface is available in English, Arabic (right to left), French and Spanish.
How we test
- Automated checks with axe-core against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules on every page, in light mode, dark mode and on phone-sized screens.
- Automated keyboard, reflow (320 px), text-spacing and page-title checks.
- Manual review of keyboard flows, focus order, dialogs and form errors.
- Testing with assistive technologies, such as screen readers built into desktop and mobile operating systems.
Known limitations
- Files you upload: the accessibility of your own syllabi, slides and notes depends on how they were made. We read their text so you can use it in accessible form throughout the app.
- AI-generated content: practice questions, lessons and vocabulary are written automatically. We present them with the same accessible structure, but wording may occasionally be unclear — you can report any question from the quiz.
- Email: reminder emails are built to be accessible, but how they display depends on your email app.
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, together with their built-in accessibility features and common screen readers.
Feedback and help
If you run into a barrier, or need content in a different format, please tell us — we want to fix it. Use the contact form (choose “Accessibility”) or email support@aceversity.com. Please tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
